Welcome to the Central High School Library

The previous High School, often called "The Castle on the Hill," was built at its present location in 1912. It is situated on the northwest corner of Lexington Parkway and Marshall Avenue in St. Paul, just south of interstate 94. The building, as it physically appears today, was added in the early 1980's. Approximately 2100 students from a diverse cross-section of society are represented in grades 9-12 at Central. The Library Media Center is up on the fifth floor in the center of  the school. The collection of materials consists of  28,000 books in print, a fabulous reference section, 50 subscriptions  to magazines, 24 computers to access  information (MAC's and PC's) and a multitude of databases. All textbooks are now barcoded and checked out from the Media Center. A copy machine is also available.
